FACS has the ability to mobilize to heavily impacted areas and to be self sufficient while the local utilities and infrastructure are being restored. When quick response is required to assess site conditions, FACS works with local authorities and first responders to get accurate and detailed information assembled quickly. The goal is always to provide a safe working and living environment while also helping reduce business interruption.
In the winter of 2012, FACS assisted multiple clients in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy struck the northeastern United States. Emergency response services were provided to healthcare facilities in Brooklyn, office buildings in lower Manhattan and schools in New Jersey. FACS also provided emergency response support for commercial retail facilities in Long Island and Connecticut.
Response services included initial site assessments, remediation cost estimates, insurance claim reviews, emergency remediation project designs and project management for each location. Services typically focused on water intrusion and mold but also included asbestos, lead and other environmental health concerns associated with major flooding and building demolition and reconstruction.
Services also involved the coordination of multiple field support staff, mobile laboratories and management support services. The projects were extremely complex and required extensive coordination and yet all projects were completed on time and within budget.
