Megan Canright, MPH, CIH, is one of the instructors for the Introduction to Human Health Risk Assessment course. The course runs from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 22.
Risk assessment is a vital component of the modern practice of industrial hygiene. Despite its importance, few industrial hygienists are formally trained as risk assessors or understand the underlying principles or practice of risk assessment. This PDC is designed to educate practitioners about the relationship between industrial hygiene and classical risk assessment methods and provide a solid basis for understanding the core elements of the risk assessment process. The course will give practicing industrial hygienists sufficient knowledge and practical training needed to perform a straightforward risk assessment related to occupational or environmental exposures to hazardous agents.
